Add AC Repair and Service to Your Spring To-Do List

Spring is finally here. We’re almost sure your to-do list already feels too long, but we have a few things that can save you some headaches and keep you comfy in the months to come. The weather is beginning to heating up in Mount Pleasant and the last thing you want is to uncover is that you’re facing an AC repair. Going through this short checklist now may save you from sweating this summer.

  1. Look at Your Air Filter and Ducts
Changing your air filter makes it to almost all of our lists of tips because it's so important and so often left unaddressed. If your air filter is filthy, your system will have to work harder to keep you comfy. This costs you more money and causes more stress on the system which reduces the life and efficiency of your system. Your ducts and registers are an additional piece of the puzzle that is often neglected as well. While you're spring cleaning, take off the covers from your registers and vacuum inside them. While you have the covers taken off, soak them in mild dish soap, give them a scrub and replace them after they've dried.
  2. Clean Your Outdoor Unit
Keep any outdoor units clear of debris such as grass clippings, leaves or plant overgrowth. This debris can clog your system and cause it to reduce its efficiency.
  3. Set Up Your Annual AC Tune-Up
This is where we come in to help you take on that to-do list. An annual AC tune-up helps improve the life of your system and keeps it working at top efficiency. Spring is the ideal time to set up your tune-up so any problems or AC repair that needs to be made can be taken care of before the hot summer months. The cost of a tune-up is a minimal investment into the life of your system. Think of it as giving your air conditioner an oil change.

We can't help you with your entire spring to-do list, but we can help you with all things involving your home comfort. We want to be sure you’re cool and comfortable all summer long. If you have any questions about spring cleaning, your system or need to set up your annual AC tune-up, please give us a call at 843-485-0967.
